As the city cools, join us for an evening stroll to visit family-run shops, historic hidden gems, and the magic of a Florentine sunset. Our evening begins in a vibrant piazza with a crisp Prosecco to toast the setting sun. Next, we will weave through the cobblestone streets to visit a neighborhood bottega and taste artisanal cheeses hand-selected by the owners. We then seek out the Renaissance tradition of the “Buchetta del vino”, also known as the wine window, with traditional glass of wine and bruschetta topped with fresh seasonal ingredients. The atmosphere shifts as we descend into a secret, centuries-old cellar tucked within a former convent. Here, you will learn about local wine accompanied by regional meats and cheeses beneath ancient stone vaults. The culinary journey continues with a dedicated stop for hand-rolled, freshly made pasta. Moving on to the heart of Florentine heritage, our next stop features a tasting of “cucina povera”, where you will savor the rich flavors of traditional pappa al pomodoro or hearty ribollita. To ensure we catch the local artisans before they close for the night, we’ll make a timely visit to a family owned pastry shop for crunchy, authentic cantucci. Our night concludes with a final, sweet cool artisanal gelato, where you will learn to spot the ‘real thing’ while soaking up the vibrant energy of the Florentine streets.
